Victory (“the app”, “we”, “us”) helps people work toward freedom from pornography using streak tracking, Scripture, and accountability. This policy explains what the app collects, why, who it is shared with, and how you can delete it.
Please read Section 2 carefully. Some of what this app records is sensitive personal information about your sexual behaviour, and we want to be direct with you about that rather than bury it.
The app is published by Jason Alves Fonseca, an individual developer. We are not a company. For any privacy question or request, contact marnu.v.n@gmail.com. We aim to respond within 30 days.
| Category | What it is | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Account identifiers | An anonymous account ID created on first launch. If you choose to sign in with Apple or Google, we also receive the name and email address you release to us. | To keep your data attached to you across devices and reinstalls. |
| Sensitive recovery data | Your streak history, relapse events and dates, logged urges, panic-button use, daily check-in answers, mood ratings, journal entries, and prayer log. | This is the core function of the app. It is stored so your streak, timeline, and history work. |
| Onboarding answers | The answers you give during onboarding, including how long you have been struggling and how often. | To personalise your plan and the figures shown to you. |
| Accountability pairing | The pairing code and the identity of the partner you pair with. If you opt in, your partner is notified of your relapses and streak. | To operate the accountability partner feature. Sharing is opt-in and can be turned off or unpaired at any time. |
| Purchase status | Whether you hold an active subscription, and a purchase identifier. We never see or store your card details. | To unlock paid features and restore purchases. |
| Diagnostics and usage | Crash reports, device model, OS version, and in-app events such as screens viewed, buttons used, and whether you completed onboarding or purchased. On the waitlist website: pages viewed, quiz answers (age band, how long you have been fighting, frequency), and whether you signed up, downloaded the plan, or joined WhatsApp. We do not send your email address to the analytics provider. | To fix crashes and understand which parts of the app and website help people. |
| Notifications | A device token, if you allow notifications. | To send your daily devotional and check-in reminders. |
The app does not collect your contacts, photos, precise location, microphone, or camera. Bible text is bundled with the app and read offline; we do not log which verses you read.
We do not sell your personal information and we do not share it with advertisers. We use the following processors, who handle data on our behalf:
Your accountability partner sees only what you opt in to share with them: your current streak, and relapse alerts if you enable them. They never see your journal entries, prayer log, or check-in notes.
We may disclose information if we are legally required to, or where we believe in good faith that it is necessary to prevent imminent harm to someone.
Account and recovery data is stored on Google Cloud infrastructure. Product analytics are stored by PostHog in the United States (or the EU, if we configure an EU project). Data may be processed in countries other than your own. Where we transfer data out of the UK, EEA, or South Africa, we rely on our processors’ standard contractual clauses.
We keep your data for as long as your account exists. If you delete your account, we delete your account record and its associated recovery data from our live systems, and it falls out of encrypted backups within 30 days. Analytics events that cannot reasonably identify you may be retained in aggregate. The waitlist website stores a small identifier in your browser (local storage / a cookie) so we can tell a returning visit from a new one; it is not an advertising cookie.
You can delete your account and all associated data from inside the app, under Settings → Delete my account. This is permanent and cannot be undone. If you cannot access the app, or if you would like a copy of your data, email marnu.v.n@gmail.com and we will action the request.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, to object to or restrict processing, and to withdraw consent. Because the recovery data described in Section 2 is sensitive, we process it only on the basis of your consent, which you give by choosing to record it and can withdraw at any time by deleting your account. Contact marnu.v.n@gmail.com to exercise any of these rights. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
Victory is rated 17+ and is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Data is encrypted in transit and at rest by our infrastructure providers, and access to production data is restricted. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
If we change this policy materially we will update the date at the top and notify you in the app before the change takes effect.
